About
Mancelona Free Methodist Church was founded in 1891 and currently meets in its third location on Darragh Road, about a mile and a half south of town. We are an evangelical, Wesleyan-based church that strives to serve our community, living out the values of the Bible with our denomination’s particular focus on reaching the poor and forgotten. We view the world with a kingdom focus and welcome opportunities to partner well with our brothers and sisters in Christ serving in other churches. In following with the principles and teachings of the Free Methodist denomination, we strive to love God, love people, and make disciples of all nations.

Loving God
“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.
(Matthew 22:37-38, NLT)

People
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
(Matthew 22:39-40, NLT)
Making
Disciples
"...go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.
(Matthew 28:19-20, NLT)
What Does it Mean to be a Free Methodist?
(Excerpt from fmcusa.org)
"As Free Methodists, we share a common perspective. We value the voice of everyone.
We engage with each other by assuring a balance in leadership with both lay and clergy represented equally at the national committee level.
By sharing a portion of our resources with one another through a national office, we do more together than we could do alone.
We engage in common ministries for greater impact.
Our common values of freedom, holiness, and generosity to the marginalized guide our engagement together.
The movement of Free Methodists has been one of welcoming everyone – especially those seen as less than from the world’s viewpoint. You are invited to the table, set by Jesus, to be made whole.
You are invited to belong through membership. It’s our way of reflecting to each other that we’re all in with one another.
You are invited to say, “yes” to God with your whole life."
